Growing up outside of Chicago, I was the middle of three girls. My early creative tendencies were encouraged and I thrived in obtaining Bachelors and Masters degrees in Art Education. My teaching career of 25 years was followed by self employment as a decorative artist with Finishes of Distinction, a faux finishing company that gave me experience with the design and home-building communities.
My husband and I co-facilitate a Blended Families class at our church. We all lend each other support and encouragement in the new family configurations we now live and love in. We also head up a car repair ministry for single moms and the elderly. I was the fortunate recipient of the early days of this ministry while a single mom myself! We now have four grown children and seven precious grandchildren, six adventurous boys and a girly girl.
Entering soul care training with Plumbline Ministries just made sense. I was sensing a desire for even deeper relational connections. Plus I loved Terry’s out of the religious box slant on things. Having been a recipient of Plumbline’s ministry myself, as well as family members, over many years on and off, I was blessed, challenged and relieved by the Biblical care and comfort I received. As I learned about self- awareness, I found stirring in me a passion, similar to the feelings I get when creating. This was a passion for learning more of these spiritual, relational and emotional principles, and for sharing them with others.
I believe that God can use my gifts of mercy, encouragement, exhortation and teaching, to help those in crisis in the intriguing process of facing and embracing their reality and making a Godly response.
Psalm 43:3 “Send forth your light and your truth, let them guide me.”
